Taize Chanting Circle
This spiritual practice is designed to get us out of our thoughts and bring us deeper to experience our divine connection. It is non-dogmatic, not based in any one tradition and is open to all. We sing and chant, listen to a reading and then go into silent meditation, and repeat for a total of four rounds.
The chanting/singing circle is based on a Christian practice called Taize, which is a French word meaning singing practice. By repeating short songs and chants we are brought out of our thoughts into a meditative state. The songs and chants use a few words to express our basic reality of faith, which is quickly grasped by the mind and with repetition gradually penetrates the whole being. Meditative singing can become a way of listening to Spirit and our higher selves. The songs can also sustain a personal prayer and through them, little by little, our being is able to find an inner unity in Spirit.
All are welcome, regardless of personal faith, religion or practice.

Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga has been described as a way to raise one’s awareness or experience a
state of higher consciousness. Like all forms of yoga (Sanskrit for union), Kundalini also has the goal of uniting body, mind and spirit. This goal may serve multiple purposes, from experiencing one’s higher consciousness to day-to-day stress relief. Although designed specifically for householders, Kundalini is yoga for everyone. If one can breathe and move, then one can do Kundalini, which combines breath and movement with posture (asana), hand position (mudra), chanting (mantra) and meditation. This combination helps one not only unite body, mind and spirit but also strengthens the nervous and immune systems. In addition to these potential benefits, one may both increase muscle flexibility and strength while preventing future injury. Practitioners notice improvements in concentration and energy.
